Fascination of light:

Osram launches its new worldwide advertising campaign

MUNICH - Osram will be launching its new international advertising campaign in October. The advertisements will address different customer groups at an emotional level. The concept is based on the fact that everyone, from domestic consumers to commercial users, finds light fascinating.

"In our campaign we are therefore showing what a positive effect light has on our lives - and in many different ways such as energy saving, design, communication and enjoyment. We are therefore making a link to the Osram brand name that is relevant to consumers", says Hansjörn Schenkat, head of advertising at Osram. The new claim "See the world in a new light" is an impressive statement on how the world changes when you look at it in the "right" light from Osram lamps.

In the motif for the Bellalux Soft range of lamps the soft light reminds an old couple of all the joys of spring. Another motif shows how stage lighting puts a rock star in the spotlight. A creative team at Ogilvy & Mather got together with renowned photographers to produce 20 new motifs.

The traditional Osram logo has been overhauled. The light bulb now stands upright on its base. A hundred years ago the lamp was shown with its base at the top to let consumers know that the lamp would hang from the ceiling and shine down. Nowadays, the light bulb stands for creativity and brilliant ideas. The revised logo is therefore a symbol of the innovative strength of Osram.
