Greater safety for HGV drivers:
New spare lamp kit from Osram
More than 2.5 million inspections by GTÜ (German Society for Technical Supervision) in 2002 revealed that 62 percent of all commercial vehicles and 49 percent of all trailers over 3.5 t had defects.
These latest statistics pointed to faults in the lighting and electrics as the main reasons for the defects. This means that HGV drivers are running a greater risk, particularly at night, of being involved in serious accidents because of faulty headlights, indicator lights or brake lights.
Osram now offers eight new spare lamp kits as accessories. The 24 V Eurobox is available in versions with 5 to 13 lamps with H1, H4 or H7 types. Some of the kits also include the most common 15, 20 and 30 amp fuses. The kits come in sturdy boxes that will withstand sunlight and wide fluctuations in temperature. Some kits contain spare lamps for interior lighting so drivers are not left in the dark during their statutory rest breaks.
Not only will these kits give truckers some peace of mind because the lights will always be working properly, they will save them time and money. The Eurobox is clearly laid out and informative so drivers can find the right spare lamp in no time at all. Costly trips to the workshop will no longer be necessary.
